Week In Review, Weekly Rankings and Games To Watch

WEEK IN REVIEW: Thursday: #11 Deer Park @ #7 Lakeside Player Of The Week Kole Hunsaker (Lakeside QB/DB) You could make the argument that Kole Hunsaker is not only one of the best QBs in the area, but also one of the best all around football players in the area. The 4 year starter at quarterback also saw some time at corner last year, leading into a senior year where he’d be asked to not only lead the team as the senior captain quarterback and starting corner, but also punter, holder on PATs/FGs and wildcat WR where he caught a touchdown earlier this year.  Friday: #4 Coeur d’Alene 14 @ #10 Lakeland 13 Our game of the week between the Coeur d’Alene Vikings and the Lakeland Hawks didn’t disappoint. Lakeland jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter, but couldn’t hold off seniors Colton Farrar, Kruz Wheeler and the Vikings offense from rallying in the 2nd quarter. CDA would break two big plays on consecutive drives by the seniors to take the lead. Lakeland kicker Owen Forsma...

Kellogg Wildcats (2-1) INWFB GAMES OF THE WEEK Thursday 9/15 •  #11 Deer Park @ #7 Lakeside - In what might be the most competitive league in the INW, the Northeast 1A is going to prepare whichever team comes out on top, for what looks like a deep run in the state playoffs. But being early in the season it’s hard to tell just yet who will be left standing at the top. Both Deer Park and Lakeside come into this game 2-0 with wins over 2A East Valley the past two weeks. Respectively, Deer Park is looking to ride their wave of momentum after a shutout win over Idaho 1A power, Kellogg and Lakeside opened the season with a huge 44-2 win over 2A Pullman and returns a ro...

Clarkston - The battle of the LC Valley! Wish we were able to be at this one, the atmosphere will be electric. Clarkston, who sits just outside our rankings at #13, looks to take down rival Lewiston and make some noise. #3 Central Valley v. Lewis & Clark - Gentz Hilburn and the Tigers travel to Central Valley to take on the Bears and their stout defense. Which 4A team will remain unbeaten? #7 Kellogg v. Deer Park - Deer Park looks to slow down the most explosive offense in North Idaho as both teams look...

Game Of The Week Review: University @ Mt Spokane

University Titans @ Mt Spokane Wildcats Our game of the week took us to Union Stadium in north Spokane, where our preseason #13 Mt Spokane Wildcats hosted the #12 Titans from University High School. Head Coach Terry Cloer and the Wildcats didn’t waste any time turning that underdog mentality into a week 1 statement. The Wildcats only returning starter, senior Blake Speer scored their first points of the season on a 1-yard touchdown run and then kicked the extra point, did the punting, returned kicks and knocked through a 30-yard field goal, all in the just the 1st quarter (would hit again from 40-yards later in the game). Mt Spokane would go up by double digits and would not look back. First game hiccups along with cramping slowed the Titans and they were unable to match the speed of the Wildcats. After a convincing 30-14 victory to start the season, the future of the Mt Spokane program looks very promising. The 2024 class led by quarterback TJ Haberman looked very impressive agai...
